David Scherer is an associate attorney at McGrath McCall P.C. 

 

Dave represents financial institutions and corporations in a wide array of legal matters that include analyzing and drafting loan documents, serving as creditors’ counsel in all types of creditors’ rights proceedings, including, but not limited to commercial loan workouts, residential and commercial mortgage foreclosures, debt collection, and bankruptcy matters. 

 

Prior to joining McGrath Mcall P.C., Dave spent five years representing a wide array of governmental bodies in delinquent tax collection actions involving property taxes, local earned income taxes, and business privilege as well as mercantile taxes.  Dave has litigated hundreds of contested matters for Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, the School District of Pittsburgh, and numerous local municipalities, as well as local school districts.  Additionally, Dave represented the County of Allegheny in multiple appellate matters before the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court related to delinquent real estate taxes. Dave’s prior practice also dealt with a variety of municipal law issues, including the drafting of new ordinances and resolutions, as well as settlement negotiations with various employers and individuals for both unpaid taxes and citations for municipal code violations.

 

Dave is licensed to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Courts for both the Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.  Dave is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

 

Dave graduated magna cum laude from Bloomsburg University in 2013, where he obtained a B.A. in Political Science.  Dave subsequently earned his J.D. from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Duquesne University in 2017.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys working out, watching the Steelers and reading.
